The video game Lethal Company is an early access co-op survival horror game by Zeekerss. The game takes place in a retrofuturistic post-apocalyptic universe, where players take on the role of contracted employees working for a corporation called "The Company," collecting scrap from abandoned, industrialized moons, while having to avoid traps, environmental hazards, and monsters. They have three days to meet the Company's ever-increasing profit quota. The video game Lethal Company was released as an early access game on October 23, 2023. The game became popular on storefront Steam the next month. The video game Lethal Company is played from a first-person perspective cooperatively with up to 4 players. Players are tasked with collecting scrap from abandoned, industrialized moons and selling them to meet the Company's profit quota in three days. At the end of each deadline, if the required quota is reached, they will go on to complete a higher required profit quota where the process will repeat. When the players eventually fail to reach the profit quota, they will be released from their ship into space, killing them. The video game Lethal Company focuses on exploration, survival, and strategy. It is characterized by a realistic and brutal atmosphere, where players can face intense situations. Players must also return to their ship on time before its autopilot starts and leaves without them at midnight. Players must monitor their stamina level and weight carried visible on the heads-up display, as stamina is depleted by sprinting and jumping. They gain company credits from selling collected scrap, which can be used to purchase items using a terminal console inside their ship. Items include flashlights, melee weapons such as shovels and stop signs, walkie-talkies to communicate with other players outside of proximity chat, and various ship decorations, including a boombox. The video game Lethal Company offers eight semi-procedurally generated moons, such as Experimentation, Rend, and Titan (not including the Company's dedicated moon where players sell their scrap). Each moon carries a different level of difficulty that dictates what types of creatures spawn, how many of those creatures will spawn, and the amount of scrap that can be collected. There may be dangerous weather conditions that the moon traveled to may possess that hinder the players' progress. As of version 45, there are 19 creatures the players will meet. Enemies that may serve as a decent threat include the "Thumper" (aka "Half"), a speedy 2-legged land animal that is evolutionarily related to sharks, and the "Bracken" (aka "Flowerman"), a humanoid that stalks and eventually snaps the neck of its prey, but runs away when spotted. One of the biggest threats in the game is the "Jester," a creature inside a giant jack-in-the-box toy that remains harmless until it winds up its box and reveals itself, where it will then hunt down all players unstoppably. The video game Lethal Company has received critical acclaim on the online storefront Steam, topping the platform's Global Top Seller list and had 100,000 concurrent players in November 2023.
